Hereford Musical Theatre Company

Productions - LITTLE ME

Produced on the Broadway Stage by Feuer and Martin.
This is an outrageously funny musical. It tells the story of the rise to fame and excessively large fortune of Belle Poitrine, a little girl from the wrong side of the tracks who finds her way to the right side of the tracks with the help of several willing gentlemen.

The action is carried through a series of vignettes with integrated music and choreography. There are two Belles. There is the older Belle of today who is a genial, self-indulgent, wealthy boozer. She is telling an interviewer the story of her life. The story is acted by the younger Belle who plays the scenes as they occur.

Early in the story she meets high born Noble Eggleston. He cannot marry Belle because she does not have ‘wealth, culture and social position’. Belle achieves these necessary goals through her association with seven men, some of whom help her progress by being taken dead at opportune moments.

This production is directed by Stephanie Austwick and Jon Stacey. Musical Director is Jenni Axtell. The same enthusiastic, imaginative and winning team that gave us the hit production of ‘Godspell’.
We are putting this show on at our Theatre in Whitecross Road (Hereford MTC Theatre).
